This Week's Guilt-Free Meals

Most people writing a blog such as this will tell you that their body is a temple and that it is up to them to cleanse it from impurity. Insert all sorts of motivational nonsense that by the end of it will most likely make you feel like maybe your body is more of a trailer than a temple. Run on cheap gasoline and Cool Ranch Doritos. That is not what I want to do. Right now, I'd honestly rather be eating a burger with beef bacon strips and use Shipley's or Krispy Kreme doughnuts for buns than posting this, but I digress.

This week was about trying to get excited about eating right. It was about trying to be creative and bold with what I wanted to make. It was about showing those around me that you don't have to kill yourself trying to eat disgusting shit and then feel obligated to post in on Instagram with #doingwork #sacrifice #eatingclean. Fuck that noise.

It can be delicious and you don't have to sound like a Bro doing it.

Monday:

It's a terrible day. Thankfully I have a noon class on Monday's, but most aren't as fortunate. I always try to leave myself with a taste of the weekend. Something indulgent and sweet that doesn't make me feel like I want to die. Something like an Oatmeal & Vanilla Protein Pancake served with Honey and Bananas. It isn't a Lazy Sunday meal, but it will do.

Tuesday:

There is still a little remnants of Monday. You still feel kind of fat and alone and not so ready for what life has in store for the rest of the week. Make something that will make you feel good about yourself and who you are. A Zucchini Pesto Pasta with Spinach is always and forever the answer. Also, listening to Taking Back Sunday helps.

Wednesday:

Wednesdays are better. The air is easier to breathe and you've reached the check point that is the middle of the week. You feel like you deserve a reward for making it as far as you did. Make no mistake, you are very deserving. Make a Pizza with Low Moisture Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese and an All-Whole Wheat Crust. Most people mix Whole Wheat with All Purpose Flour so it isn't as hard to swallow. But you a beast. You can handle dat fiber.

Thursday:

Thursdays are typically ambivalent. You don't really know how you feel about a Thursday. On one hand, it mean's it's one day closer to Friday. On the other, it's the one day that divides you from happiness. Either way, only what you feed yourself will sooth your clouded mind. Stir Fry Cabbage, Carrots, Onions and Red Bell Peppers, Cauliflower fried rice and Orange Chicken. Maybe not the MOST healthy meal of all time, but it's far from the worst.

Friday:

The most glorious of work days. Just the mere idea that you have reached an end is ineffable. It is cause for celebration. We celebrate in many ways. I celebrate with a Asian Marinated Lamb Steak topped with a Carrot and Bok Choy Salad tossed in a Soy Sauce Vinaigrette.

Saturday & Sunday:

Eat whatever you want. A weekend can vary in enjoyability based on what you do, but Mondays will always suck.

24 Hours of Guilt-Free Meals

There are many things I refuse to put time and effort in. Food is not one if them.
I decided to put my intermediate skills to the test and make anything I wanted but it had to be

A) Moderately healthy
B) From scratch

These were the days items:

Flapjacks made with Toasted Oats and Almonds, White Chocolate and Brown Sugar

Fried Egg with Spinach and Grilled Chicken topped with Tony Cactherys Creole Seasoning

Fried Egg with a Savory Almond Meal Pancake, Tomatoes and Whole Wheat Country Gravy

Chocolate Almond Meal Muffins

Spinach, Apple, Orange and Carrot Juice

Grilled Marinated Chicken with Carrots and Spinach
